Dr. Gupta doing cataract surgery. This man had advanced cataracts in both eyes. He had to be led into the clinic. He was seen later in the week walking around town and looking at everything that he had been missing. |

Ruth Berkling is the German consulate to San Pedro Sula. She helped us get our glasses and equipment through customs. Note there is a line on the wall above Ruth's head. This is where the water level was at the airport during Hurricane Mitch. |
Pete Twitchell introduces Shane Cooper. Shane is a native of Le Ceiba and served as an interpreter in Trujillo. |
We stopped at a mission in La Ceiba and we got stuck when we tried to turn the bus around. Arnulfo was able to find the key to the school bus and we were able to continue. |

This bridge was washed out in 2 places by Hurricane Mitch in 1998. The metal sections in the photo are called "Bailey Bridges". They are temporary until permanent repairs can be made. |
